The unit covers skills, knowledge and behavior required to demonstrate the understanding and use of shorthand skills in office administration. The unit involves: consolidating short hand and writing principles, developing vocabulary extension, taking short hand dictations, transcribing short hand notes, developing listening and art skills, and typing mailabe work. The unit is significant to Office Administration as it instills in the trainee shorthand skills  that enable them to take and consolidate office information for efficient office administration. The skills assist the trainee in increasing accuracy in note taking and combine the skills of listening, summarizing and recording of information for efficient office administration.

Official meetings coordination unit of competency is a core unit of competency offered
in TVET level 6 qualification for office administration. This unit specifies the
competencies required to coordinate official meetings. It includes preparing meeting
invitations, the meeting room, and reference materials, providing hospitality services,
taking the minutes of the meeting, clearing the meeting room, preparing the minutes
and action plan document.
Introduction
Office document processing is a core requirement competency in the TVET level 6 
qualifications for office administration. This unit will tackle interpreting office
instructions, typesetting office documents, preparing office reports, conducting
reprographic services and generating office forms.
